RABAT, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Moroccan foreign minister Nasser Bourita and his French counterpart, Jean Yves Le Drian, talked on bilateral ties and regional crises on Monday in the North African country's capital Rabat.

During a joint press conference after their talks, the two ministers highlighted "the exceptional partnership" and the "regularity of their strong relations" between Morocco and France.

Le Drian said that France relies on Morocco in its fight against terrorism and extremism.

"France combats the spreading phenomenon of extremist ideology, and has deep respect for Islam," said the French minister.

On the Libyan crisis, Le Drian hailed the "recent encouraging signals" such as the maintenance of the cease-fire and the convening of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Tunis.

For his part, Bourita stressed that Morocco and France have a particular interest in the stability of Libya.

Both countries are consulting each other on the situation in Mali and the terrorist threat in the region, he added.
