The first public autonomous driving experience activity in China was held in the Shanghai International Automobile City on October 11.

Compared with self-driving test rides held in the past, this activityis more authoritative and has a higher safety standard. After several rounds of evaluation, allride.ai, which has been presented with the first Yangtze River Delta intelligent connected vehicles(ICV) testing licenses, was selected as the sole autonomous vehicle provider.

During the two-day event, nearly 1,000 people from Shanghai and surrounding areas have made appointments to experience the self-driving cars. 5G and the latest AI developments have made the unmanned vehicle sensing systems more sensitive and the control systems more precise, thus bringing more comfort to the public.

Ms. Wang, who experienced autonomous driving on site, fully believes in the promising future of autonomous driving. Wangsaid, "Unmanned driving is safer than manual driving, whether in terms of speed control, distance maintenance, or overtaking."

Mr. Jin, who also participated in the experience activity, said thatalthoughthe current unmanned technology is not yet asintelligent ashe had imagined, andcould still be improved interms of driving comfort, he is optimistic about the future of autonomous driving."This is a historical trend. As technology matures, autonomous driving will definitely replace manual driving," said Jin.
