Dada Bangla Limited, a start-up from Bangladesh, which has reaped benefits since displaying Bangladeshi jute handicrafts at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), is to exhibit even more at the second one. In addition, it will also showcase more than 30 pieces of embroidery made by local rural women for the first time.

Exhibits more colorful at this year’s expo

Dada’s founder, Saf, introduced that last year at CIIE, it presented more than 170 kinds of jute handicrafts, including carpets, baskets, bags, shoes and decorations, and the biggest advantage for the company was to let the Chinese people and exhibitors from all over the world understand the culture and arts of Bangladesh. This year’s jute handicrafts are more colorful and fashionable in design. The embroidered products to be shown in China are completely hand made and express the local people's craftsmanship and lifestyles. All these exhibits have been shipped from Dhaka Port and will be mounted for exhibition when arriving in Shanghai.

The first CIIE has boosted the cooperation between Dada and a number of Chinese companies, such as the Orient International Company and Ou Jian Network, which has aided Dada withimport agents and cross-border supply chain services.“For the then Dada which had no export experience, it was very fortunate to be able to come to China to participate in the Expo, and it wasalso very enviable among local companies,” said Saf. After the first Expo, Dada’s products also entered the Takashimaya Art Space in Shanghai for the first time for display and sale.

With the second expo just around the corner, Saf hopes that via the trading platform of the expo, more exhibitors can promote the products and the national culture they represent to more markets.
