　　The 15th RA China Auto Salon, a showcase for domestic refitted automobile industry, was opened at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center on October 11th, reported Chinanews.com.

　　Different from a traditional auto show, the RA China Auto Salon displays automobiles and accessories especially for the personalized consumer market. Each year it has not only attracted a large number of consumers to order cars, but also lured car- refit companies, decorative enterprises and 4S car shops to purchase accessories.

　　This year, 200 exhibitors are showcasing 500 modified accessories, among which there are also some cutting-edge products such as explosion-proof materials, safety glass, central control instrument panels and car armrest boxes; enough to meet the one-stop purchase needs of every buyer.

　　Although, since last year, national automobile sales have been declining, exerting a serious impact on 4S stores and used car companies, luxury brands have shown a growing momentum with an obvious consumption upgrade trend. According to the annual report of the car refit industry, the market size of the whole industry reached 64.2 billion yuan in 2018. Despite the overall economic downturn in 2019, the scale of the automobile modification industry has seen a positive growth of 15%, showing that the personalized consumer market is becoming the next area for growth opportunities.

　　“Although it costs a lot to have special safety upgrades for each bullet proof car, many customers still come to ask for a modification,” said Wang Bing, a person in charge of the Shanghai Star Rubber Products Company, a high-end security customized services provider. According to Wang, the company sold more than 10 such cars last year.

　　Besides the luxury custom-made retrofits which cost millions of yuan, mid-end business customization cars and Recreational Vehicles are also being displayed at this year’s event.
