From:Shine  |  2020-10-17 15:29

Another six patients who were infected with coronavirus overseas were discharged on Saturday after recovery.

So far, 1,003 patients, including 668 imported cases, have been released from hospital, according to the Shanghai Health Commission.

The newly released patients were all Chinese, who contracted the virus overseas. They are all young and middle-aged, and were not in a serious condition.

They received anti-infection, traditional Chinese medicine, nutrition treatment and other supportive therapy during hospitalization.

The health authority will monitor their well-being.

A 13-month girl, who was released on Saturday, is the youngest imported case in Shanghai. The child arrived in Shanghai with her family in mid-September from the Philippines and was transferred to the Children’s Hospital of Fudan University after a nucleic acid test upon arrival was positive.

The Shanghai Health Commission said the city will enhance management of released patients, who should undergo a 14-day quarantine as well as health observation at home, and go to hospital for health checks in the second and fourth weeks.

For those with fundamental diseases, local health facilities will offer medical care and support during the quarantine.
