School children from Jing'an District attend a special flag-raising ceremony.
More than 200 people attended a special flag-raising ceremony held this morning outside a major revolutionary site in Jing’an District to celebrate National Day.
The event started at 8:30am in front of the memorial site of the Party’s Second National Congress, where the first Party constitution was drafted nearly a century ago. Today, the memorial boasts China’s first Party constitution library.
Local students, residents and office workers saluted the flag and together sang the national anthem.
After the ceremony, they toured the memorial and learned about Party stories from Zhang Liming, former director of the memorial site of the Party’s First National Congress.
The event was held to mark the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and to herald the upcoming third China International Import Expo.
Expo volunteers from the district vowed to offer outstanding service and present a great image of the city.
