A charity program providing help for cancer patients during coronavirus epidemic has been launched under the cooperation of domestic cancer associations andpharmaceutical giant Roche.
There is a large number of cancer patients in China. Every day, some 10,000 people are diagnosed with cancer and some 6,000 people die in the nation.
The lack of medical resources and the need to stay at home present many challenges to cancer patients during the coronavirus outbreak.
Information and disease management are important, so Roche teamed with Kapok Plan, a new media platform for cancer patient care, to offer information during this difficult time.
"The service allows patients to get information at home and avoid the risk of going to hospital," said Shi Anli from the China Anti-Cancer Association's rehabilitation branch. "We have invited experts to give talks on coronavirus prevention on the platform.”
