The 2019 Shanghai Model Festival is the 11th of its kind.

More than 4,000 model enthusiasts gathered at Oriental Land in Qingpu District on Sunday to enjoy an event that's part of the 2019 Shanghai Model Festival.

The event, the 11th of its kind, kicked off in June and has attracted more than 100,000 students and enthusiasts around the city. Participants have shown off their best miniature model creations, including airplanes and aerospace vehicles, boats, automobiles and buildings. Many have also come to appreciate the talent of other model makers.

During the event at Oriental Land, the audiences saw turbo jet models perform in Shanghai for the first time. There were also professional athletes wearing costumes of Iron Man and other characters. Model rocket and race car contests were held as well.
