A stronger mid-October cold front is likely to bring gales and some showers this week with the highest temperature being 20 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, forecasters said.

The cold air is likely to summon meteorological autumn.

According to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau, the cold front will come on Monday afternoon with citywide drizzle. The winds will grow stronger, especially in coastal areas.

The wet conditions will come to an end at night but the northerly winds will keep growing.

The morning temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will be as low as 14 to 15 degrees in the suburbs.

Showers at times will emerge between Wednesday and Friday, and starting the weekend dry with cloudy skies.
