A delegation led by Shanghai Vice Mayor Zong Ming is in Mauritius to promote traditional Chinese medicine.

The China-Mauritius Traditional Chinese Medicine Center was unveiled on Tuesday in Port Louis, Mauritius, to promote TCM overseas.

Shanghai Vice Mayor Zong Ming said the center will not only provide quality TCM diagnosis and treatment to patients in Mauritius, but also introduce TCM to neighboring African countries.

The center is a National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine "Belt and Road" project.

It will provide acupuncture, massage and herbal therapy, said Zhou Jia, director of Shanghai Yueyang Hospital.

A delegation led by Zong visited the City Clinic in Mauritius on Tuesday. Shanghai Caitongde Pharmacy and City Clinic signed a strategic cooperation agreement in the TCM field. The clinic and the Yueyang hospital signed a similar agreement in June.

The agreements cover cooperation in TCM medical treatment, education and training, and scientific research to promote the overseas development of TCM.
