Didi opens hotline for elderly ride hailers
By:Zheng Qian  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2021-04-29 16:05

To provide more convenient travel services for the elderly, Chinese ride-hailing platform Didi Chuxing has launched a phone call hotline nationwide. It is a further simplification and upgrade of taxi-hailing services for the group following the launch of an elderly version of the Didi WeChat mini program in January.

For the mini program, the 10 most commonly used addresses like that of supermarkets, schools, children’s homes and hospitals can be saved in advance for later use.

Operated by a special task force, the new service can be accessed by calling the hotline or clicking the “car hailing” button in the mini program, before telling the service staff the destination and departure place. When the order is placed, a text message will be sent to the phone of the elderly user with the information of the taxi’s arrival time and license plate number.

Didi said that in the future, more refined services, such as prioritizing orders from the old or developing a specialized channel for old people to call a taxi on the Didi Chuxing app, will be developed for the group to make their travel easier.
