A Chinese version of the Japanese comedy film Kikujiro is to make its Chinese mainland debut on September 25, announced the production company on September 7. A trailer and poster were also released on the same day.

Directed by Takeshi Kitano, one of the best-known Japanese filmmakers, the film tells the story of a young boy setting out alone on the road to find his wayward mother. Released in Japan in 1999,it was shown in competition at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival. The highly-rated film boasts 8.8 points out of 10 on the Chinese review platform Douban.
