The extended exhibition of the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) started on November 13, attracting many citizens. When the door opened at 9:30, a long queue had already formed.

Ms.Yang was among those lining up. She said in an interview that she left home at 7 in the morning and arrived at8:30.“CIIE is a global chorus, and we also want to see the world,”said Ms. Yang.

Once the doors opened, the China Pavilion in the Country Exhibition area, which focuses on the dramatic changes China has been through over the 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, was crowded with visitors posing for photos and taking selfies in front of the Fuxing high-speed train model, C919 jetliner simulator and the“Deep Sea Warrior”submersible model.

Some of the intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, introduced as a first at this year’s expo, are open to the visitors as well. Intangible cultural heritage from Zhejiang, Shandong, Fujian and Shaanxi provinces as well as Shanghai drew a lot of people’s attention.

Cultural and creative products like the doll and the badge of Jinbao, the CIIE mascot, are must-buys for many customers. According to the store manager of the Cultural and Creative Products Hall, there are more than 100 kinds of products to choose from. Most of the products are fully stocked for the 8 days of the extended Expo. "On the last two days of the second CIIE, we had a purchase restriction of only one item for each buyer so as to ensure that there is sufficient supply during the extension period," said the manager.
