Amid the 60th anniversary of the Shanghai Research Institute of Sports Science, an underwater rehabilitation laboratory was opened on October 10 at the Chongming Sports Training Base.

With the nation’s largest and internationally first class underwater rehabilitation physical fitness training system, the laboratory will be a high profile underwater physical rehabilitation and training service center.

An underwater rehabilitation system has significant effects on the prevention of acute sports injuries, the recovery of individual motor function, and the rehabilitation of some chronic sports diseases, accelerating the early rehabilitation process of athletes. Besides, underwater training can effectively help athletes to eliminate fatigue and promote the recovery of athletic ability such as strength and aerobic capacity.

The Shanghai Research Institute of Sports Science introduced the world's most professional spa rehabilitation system, SwimEX, a few years ago. It has industry-leading scientific training to prevent chronic diseases and acute injuries.
