Namchow works hard to promote Chinese dietary culture

Shanghai Namchow Food Co. Ltd., located in the Shanghai Jinshan Industrial Zone, was opened in 2016. Due to the thematic exhibition areas exhibiting coffee and tea drinks, the factory is like a food culture exhibition hall. In 2018, the total sales volume of the company was 600 million yuan with close to 40,000 tons of food sold.

Founded in China's Taiwan in 1952, the Namchow Group is not only a major baking ingredients factory but also a company engaging in high-end catering, hotels and other fields. In 1996, it entered the mainland’s bakery food market and became one of the leading brands.

According to Chen Zhengwen, vice president of Namchow Group, the factory is their fourth-generation factory, which is an integration of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries of agriculture, modern manufacturing and tourism and leisure services respectively. Adopting the production technologies independently developed by itself, the manufacturing process is more environmentally-friendly. With the same production capacity, the water and electricity consumption and sewage discharge is 50% less than those of the traditional factories. Solar panels installed on the factory’s exterior walls and roofs can generate 1.1 million kWh electricity per year, further saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.

Located in Jinshan, native products from that area can be found in many Namchow Groups’ products, with advanced food production technologies and fashionable packaging designs. What’s more, Namchow Group has designed custom-made Jinshan characteristic baking souvenirs to add more fun to their products.

There is also a Chinese Bakery Artisans Culture Museum in the factory, where people can understand more of Chinese Bing, a broad and general concept of all traditional Chinese cakes, in terms of various styles in different places and the relevant modern cultural and creative products.

Chinese Bing expresses people’s gratitude to the creator and their wishes for happiness and healthy. As an innovator in the baking industry, Namchow Group raised the concept of “One City One Bing” to advocate the combination of baking products with local culture and history, inheriting the Chinese dietary culture with practical actions.
